St.Patrick's is a rural/urban Parish in The Archdiocese of Dublin, Ireland. It comprises 2000+ Catholic families and is situated on the North East, in north county Dublin which many refer to as Fingal. We are about 15 miles north of Dublin City. It has two other churches: St Ita's Portrane and Balheary.The Parish is very old. The present church was opened in 1903. The Parish is ten miles from one end to the other and comprises three very different communities. Donabate has many people who commute to the City. Portrane has a very large hospital and the area has many of the staff living there. Balheary is a rural farming area. What follows gives some glimpse of the life of our parish community. |
